Chris Potter Trio
Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, W1D 4HT , [Venue Details]A world-class soloist, accomplished composer, and formidable bandleader, saxophonist Chris Potter has long been recognised as one of the most influential voices in modern jazz.
DownBeat hails him as “one of the most studied (and copied) saxophonists on the planet”, while Jazz Times calls him “a figure of international renown”. Jazz legend Dave Liebman summed it up best: “one of the best musicians around”.
The youngest ever recipient of Denmark’s Jazzpar Prize, Potter’s prolific career includes 15 albums as a leader and appearances on over 100 recordings. His collaborators include Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, John Scofield, Jim Hall, Paul Motian, and many other luminaries.
Since his breakthrough at 18 with bebop icon Red Rodney, Potter has built a reputation for fearless improvisation and creative vision. Acclaimed albums like Unspoken, Vertigo, Gratitude, and Traveling Mercies showcase his adventurous spirit and genre-bending imagination.
Now a master at the height of his powers, Chris Potter continues to expand the boundaries of jazz with his trio, delivering performances that are as daring as they are musical.
